Parliament

Picture
Throne Room where Parliament is held.
The only official organisation that has any authority over the Queen is Parliament, made up of elected members of Parliament and the Chamber of Lords. Parliament can only be called at the Queen's discretion, that is the Queen may call it whenever she may please, if at all.

Debates in Parliament is overseen by the Lord Speaker.

Parliament Consent is required by the Monarch to;

  •  Change the line of succession
  • Change the Monarchs powers (either expanding or decreasing thereof)

Parliament must be called but does not have to give consent when the Monarch wishes to;

  • Declare war
  • Make Peace
  • Acquire new territory

Parliament may be called if;

  •  The Privy Council requests it
  •  New taxes are created
  • The Monarch wishes to pass what they fear is an unpopular law
